March Haul Part 2: Sephora, Inglot, Mac, Beauty.com and Drugstore.com

Hi guys! Here's the long overdue second part of my March haul. Sorry to be posting this so late but I still made it before the end of the month nonetheless which is good :)

If you have been following me for awhile now, you would know how much I love shopping especially online. And I know, you guys are probably thinking, "oh no, Rina is at it again with her crazy shopping spree"...lol, but just to be clear, I did not purchase all of these stuff at once. I did in fact buy these items over the course of two months and because most of it was coming from overseas, it also took some time to get to me. And I left these just sitting in the box for the last couple of weeks, until I could find the time to do this haul post.

First up is my Inglot purchase. This is my first ever eyeshadow palette from Inglot and may I just say to those of you who haven't come across their eyeshadows that these are super buttery and amazingly pigmented, it would be so hard not to fall in love with them. They have a wide range selection of shades and oh my goodness it was so hard to pick which one to get! But eventually, I opted for colours that are wearable and I would happily wear on an everyday basis.

See included swatches below..

The next products that I got that I am so excited to share with guys is my purchase from Beauty.com. I have been wanting to get these in so long and I was so happy when it's finally arrived!

URBAN DECAY STARDUST SPARKLING LIP GLOSS

I bought shades, Glitter Rock and Andromeda. Ahh my excitement level is sky high. I cannot stress enough how gorgeous these lip glosses are! And I LOVE the packaging!!

By the way, these were limited edition so I'm not sure if these are still available in stores/online.

TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH IN EXPOSED
TARTE SMOOTH OPERATOR FINISHING POWDER

To be honest, I never really took interest in Tarte cosmetics before until Jen from From Head to Toe started raving about these two products. And I was sold as soon as I saw how amazing these looked on her. I am yet to try these but once I have, I'll let you guys know what I think.

A workmate of mine recently went on a trip to New York so I asked her to get me a couple of things from Sephora whilst she was there. Here's what I got..

BENEFIT 'THEY'RE REAL' MASCARA

I've heard great things about this mascara and I'm looking forward to trying it.

URBAN DECAY 'FLASH' EYESHADOW

I love the packaging and the colour is beautiful. I wish my camera can pick up the true colour in the photo though. It actually looks a lot more vibrant purple in real life which is a shame because I'd love to show you guys how stunning the colour really is!

BENEFIT HOOLA BRONZER

All of the MAC purchases I made were from the maccosmetics.com website except for the Viva Glam Nicki which I bought from my local Mac store. I was not intending to buy it but I gave into temptation when my cousin Joanne from Urhappybunnie raved about it so much that she even made an amazing recreation of Nicki's look featuring this lipstick.

Mac Lipsticks from left to right: Viva Glam VI, Viva Glam Nicki, Shy Girl, Please Me

Mac blushes from left to right: Gentle (Mineralise blush), Dollymix, Breeze

I also re-purchased my fave eye liner, Smolder.

Last but not the least are my purchases from drugstore.com. Revlon lip butters are still not readily available on Australian shelves so I had to order it online from US. I can't tell you guys how happy I am to finally own a few of these! Lol. And because US prices are a lot cheaper, I thought I might as well re-purchase a few of the old items that I like and save myself quite a bit of money instead of buying it here later on.

L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara
Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara
Milani Liquif'eye eye liner in Black
Milani Liquif'eye eye liner in Brown
L'oreal Extra Intense cream eye liner pencil
Maybelline Master Drama Eye Studio pencil

L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick in Saucy Mauve
L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick in Fairest Nude
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Primrose
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Berry Haute
Revlon Color Burst Lipstick in Soft Nude

Revlon Lip Butters: Berry Smoothie, Lollipop, Cotton Candy
Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch

Wet N Wild icon eyeshadow in Brulee
Wet N Wild icon eyeshadow in Nutty
Wet N Wild Mega Sparkle Confetti in White Icing
Wet N Wild Mega Sparkle Confetti in Lilac Frosting

And that's about it for this month's haul. Hope you guys liked what I shared and if you want more details/info on any of the products above, please let me know down the comment section below.

FOTD: St. Patrick's Day "Keen As a Bean For Green" Eye Makeup

Going on a bender this weekend to celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Well I'm not, but I'm still in a festive mood and want to get in to the St. Paddy's spirit, so I thought what better time to blow the dust off those neglected green eyeshadows of mine and have a little play or two with my long lost friends. And after searching for all the green eyeshadows that are quietly stashed in my makeup storage, it occurred to me how much I have that are crying out for love and attention. I just don't find myself reaching out for a green eyeshadow on a regular basis. But I will however attempt to use them more often in the future as they are indeed beautiful :)

As it was already late in the afternoon, I did a rush job of putting on my makeup so I could use the natural light and take photos before it goes dark. I don't have my regular camera with me at the moment so 'Instagram' pics will have to suffice for now. Anyways, here's how my little experimenting turned out...

Ahhh I wish I took my time doing my brows though! LOL. Sorry guys!

EYESHADOWS USED

Urban Decay Kush (all over lid colour) - a metallic bright medium (almost lime) green colour with a hint of silver shimmer
Urban Decay Graffiti (all over lid colour on top of Kush and lower lash line colour) - a metallic sheen vibrant grass green colour
Urban Decay Loaded (outer corner and crease colour) - a metallic sheen deep forest green colour. Very dark that it almost comes off black
Inglot #57 Loose Pigment (lower lash line) - dark jade green colour
Urban Decay Money (inner corner and tear duct) - silvery pale green colour with a lot of shimmer

I must admit, this eye makeup is not for everyday wear. It looks toned down in the photos but it is in-your-face bright, daring and screams 'wowzaa' in real life. Nevertheless, I had so much fun creating this and I kinda like it. I think this look will come handy one day when I feel like wearing bold colours at night or when I'm due to attend another costume/dress up party :D

Now that I re-discovered my other green eyeshadows, I'll endeavour to make a couple more looks over the next few days to give tribute to St. Patrick's Day.

By the way BlogLoveTherapy is hosting another blog hop. It is really fun to be a part of and a great way to discover other blogs and make new friends. If you'd like to participate, check out her blog soon as the hop ends in two days.

HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND EVERYONE!

Natural Glam to Soft Smokey Eyes for Valentines Day

Hey there beauties :) I'm back with another makeup tutorial and this time I put together the final two looks of my 'Valentines Day makeup look series'.

First off is a sweet, "all naturale" look to suit those who are going for a really simple yet glamorous look. But if 'simple' is not your cup of tea and you're looking for something a little bit more sexy, I transformed the first look and jazzed it up with a soft smokey eye and nude lip. These are so simple and super easy, it literally took no more than ten minutes to do each look.

So without further ado, let's get down to business and on with the tutorial..

Natural Glam Look

EYES

1. Mac Painterly Paint pot - apply all over the lid using ring finger and blend out. This will act as a base for the eyeshadow.
2. Mac Naked Pigment - using Mac 239 brush or any eye shader brush, dip it in the pigment and tap off any excess before applying all over the lid and up to the crease and in the tear duct. Grab a blending brush (I used Mac 217), and use it to soften the edges.
3. Wet N Wild Brulee - using Sigma E60 large shader brush, highlight the brow bone.
4. Mac Smolder Eye Pencil - line upper and lower lid and smudge it out a bit using a short shader brush (Sigma E20).
5. Curl lashes. I'm wearing natural false lashes (but this is optional) then I applied two coats of Dior Diorshow Mascara in Black out.
6. Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach - use ring finger and dab it under the eye to cover dark circles

For the face: as I was aiming to make it as 'natural looking' as possible, I wanted to wear a light weight foundation, something that doesn't cover all the imperfections but enough to cover redness on my face and give it a nice healthy glow. I used Covergirl's Natureluxe Silk Foundation in Sandstone, but depending on how much you apply, you may choose to build it up to a medium coverage as well. I then used Mac's MSF Natural in Medium Dark to set the foundation and I applied Nyx Cream blush in Natural to the apples of my cheeks. Then I finished off the look with Urban Decay's lip junkie lip gloss in Naked (travel size that came with the Naked2 palette).

Soft Smokey Look

EYES

So basically, I just sexified the first look by smoking out the eyes with a darker eyeshadow to my outer lid and blending it really well, up to the crease. But I didn't want it to be too dark, with like a black eyeshadow, so I chose to use Mac's 'Contrast', it's like a dark blue greyish colour, it's really gorgeous, and for me, it's perfect for a softer smokey eye. I then applied more eyeliner to my upper and lower lash line using Stila's kajal eyeliner in Onyx, and using an eyeliner brush (Sigme E05), I smudged out the liner and set it with a dark brown eyeshadow (from my Clinique palette.. sorry don't know the name of it). But of course you guys don't have to use the same products, use whatever shades u have or like, depending on how intense and dramatic you want your eyes to look :)

For the face, I contoured my cheeks using my Sleek contour kit and then I applied Milani's baked blush in Dolce Pink on top of the cream blush I put on earlier. Highlighted the centre of my cheeks, forehead, chin and nose of my bridge with Mac's MSF in Redhead. Put concealer on my lips and applied Nyx lip gloss in Real Nude to finish off the look.

Have a good weekend everyone and Happy Valentine's Day to all of you who celebrate it! And to those who don't, well hope you guys have a great day anyway (",)

Much love
Rina xoxo

RECENT HAULAGE!! SEPHORA, MAC, NONPAREIL BOUTIQUE, CHERRY CULTURE and more...

It is pretty obvious by the above pic that I spoilt myself too much on makeup products this month. But in the makeup world, "too much" sometimes isn't just enough with the endless sea of products out there to explore.

I actually ordered most of these online in December and got all my packages delivered to my cousin's address in Connecticut so she could send it to my home address here in Australia. For those of you who may not know we don't have Sephora in Australia and sadly, they do not ship internationally either :( We do have MAC stores nationwide and there's also the 'Mecca' stores (it is the closest thing we have to a Sephora store here) but it is steeply priced! You are pretty much better off shopping from a U.S. website and use a forwarding service site to send the package to you (if the website doesn't provide international shipping). Even with the additional shipping costs you'd still end up saving a bit of money, particularly if you buy in bulk. But lucky for me I have relatives in U.S. and one of my cousins was kind enough to agree to send me whatever packages I got delivered to her address. Saved me heaps of $$$ going through a forwarding service. Thanks cuz! xx

I bought products from Sephora, MAC, Cherry Culture and Nonpareil Boutique websites but due to delivery delays over christmas, I didn't end up receiving my packages from my cousin till early this month.

What I got from Sephora

MakeUp Forever HD in Caramel
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
Stila Kajal eyeliner in Onyx
Dior Diorshow Mascara in Blackout
Nars Dolce Vita Blush
Nars Turkish Delight Lipgloss
Nars Belle De Jour Lipstick
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original and Sin shades (my backup purchases)

I've tried all of these products and I am loving all of them especially the MUFE HD foundation and LM powder :)

Swatch: Nars Turkish Delight lip gloss

Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Palette (left)
Urban Decay Mariposa Palette (right)

Haven't had a chance to play around with both of these palettes but UD hasn't let me down with their eyeshadows so I'm sure I'm gonna love it just as much as my other UD palettes.

UD Deluxe Shadow Palette

Swatches L-R: Fishnet, Honey, Ransom, Graffiti, Zero, Peace, Shag, Scratch, Underground

UD Mariposa Palette

Swatches L-R: Rockstar, Gunmetal, Skim, Infamous, Wreckage

Swatches L-R: Haight, Money, Mushroom, Spotlight, Limelight

As you all know, the first time Naked2 was released, it was selling out like hotcakes in Urban Decay's website and every time I get notified that it is back in stock it sells out within hours. But I couldn't wait till Sephora gets them in stock in late December so I jumped on ebay and ended up getting my palette from a trustee seller there. I paid a little bit extra but I didn't care, it's the price I had to pay for being impatient and it was worth it! Lol. PS. I'm not going to do swatches (as it is already popular in everyone's blogs) but you can check out my Naked2 Make Up Looks here if you haven't already done so).

What I got from MAC

Pro Palette x 15 eyeshadow
Studio Tech Foundation in NC43 (re-purchase)
Contrast Single eyeshadow
Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul
Naked Pigment

Finally got my first ever Mac custom palette! Most of the shades I got are neutral and six of them are matte browns which I love cause I do not have a lot of matte brown eyeshadows in my collection. Perfect as a transition colour or for blending out crease colours. But so far, my favourite one in this palette is Sketch, a brownish burgundy plum shade.

15 Pro Palette Swatches L-R
First Row: Expensive Pink, Star Violet, Sketch, Hand Written, Espresso
Second Row: All That Glitters, Woodwinked, Twinks, Swiss Chocolate, Saddle
Third Row: Naked Lunch, Mythology, Coppering, Texture, Soft Brown

Not long after I did that big spending online and vowed not to make any more trips to a beauty store/website for a long time, I got lured into my local Mac store while I was in the shops one day on my way to do grocery shopping. I have been eyeing the Matchmaster foundation for awhile now so I asked the MUA to match me so I'd know what shade to get next time I'm ready to buy it. But it turned out really good on me and I loved it so much that I couldn't pass up not buying it straight away. I had a bit of a browse in their eyeshadows section too and I also picked up two shades, Club and Mulch.

May I just add, the last swatch (on the right) kinda reminds me of Mac's Club eyeshadow that I just bought. As you can see in the pic below, it's not an exact dupe for Club but both are duochrome brown shades except Club is leaning more towards a greenish brown shade (when it hits a different light) as opposed to WnW's definer shade which is more of a reddish brown colour.

I was also at my local Priceline store a couple of weeks ago when they were having a sale on beauty products. I finally jumped on the BB cream bandwagon and picked up Garnier's Miracle Skin perfection BB cream in Medium. By the way I've used this a couple of times now and I am really liking it. Feels good on the skin, very hydrating and does cover up imperfections and evens out my skintone. I have also been hearing good things about Covergirl's Natureluxe foundation so when I saw it on sale for only $10 AUS I also picked it up, in shade Sandstone. So far so good, I haven't had any reactions or break outs from this foundation. I like the fact that it is lightweight and is very natural looking on my skin. I also picked up another foundation, it is Maybelline's Liquid Dream mousse in Medium 2. I've actually tried the Dream matte mouse a long time ago but I wasn't fond of the consistency of it, it broke me out and no matter how little I put on, it just looked cakey on me. Maybe I bought the wrong shade or not applying it properly (I used my fingers)?? but it just wasn't working out for me. But when I saw the liquid dream mousse on sale, I thought, what the heck, might as well give it a try. I'm glad I did cause it is ahhhmaazing! It looks flawless on my skin and leaves an airbrush finish to my face.

I also ended up purchasing a few lipsticks. I picked up L'oreal's Color Riche lipstick in Nude, Revlon's Super Lustrous lipstick in Temptress and picked up five shades of the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks in Blushing Brunette, Warm Me Up, Totally Toffee, On the Mauve and Yummy Plummy.

Maybelline Color Sensational Swatches
L-R: Blushing Brunette, On the Mauve, Totally Toffee, Warm Me Up, Yummy Plummy

Swatches: L'Oreal Color Riche in Nude and Revlon Super Lustrous in Temptress

And last but not the least, I picked up a few more shades of the L'oreal Infallible eyeshadows. I've been raving about these eyeshadows since I got my first few shades last month so when I saw it on sale, I got really excited and bought three more shades in Burning Black, Endless Chocolate and Midnight Blue. These are just as amazing as the other ones I got and my opinion hasn't wavered, I still think these are the best drugstore eyeshadows out there at the moment.

So that's about it for my haul this month. Hope you guys liked what I shared. Sorry for the very long post and abundance of photos lol.
I'd be lying if I say I'm not gonna do another haul anytime soon but I know I'm not going to be able to help myself! haha.

Until my next post..

Much Love
Rina xoxo
